How we handle your documents during a demo or trial
Last updated 13 October 2026
This page is for prospects who send us their own supplier quotes, invoices and delivery notes during a demo or trial. It says where those documents go, who sees them and when they are deleted. It is short because the rules are short.
For the public website and its cookies, see the privacy policy. Once you subscribe, the subscription agreement covers your production data.
What this page covers
A demo or trial works best on your own paperwork. You may email us a batch of documents, upload them during a session, or forward them from your inbox. This page covers those documents and any stock list or supplier list you give us alongside them.
Where your documents are processed
Documents you give us for a demo or trial are stored and processed in South Africa.
What we do with them
We use them to run your demo or trial and to show you the result: the lines we read, the stock codes we matched and the exceptions we flagged. We do not use them for anything else. We do not share them with other customers or prospects.
Access to your systems is read-only
If you connect a stock, ERP or accounting system during a trial, we read from it to match your stock codes and suppliers. We do not write to it. Nothing in your live system changes during a demo or trial unless you ask us in writing to switch that on.
Personal information on documents
Supplier paperwork often carries names, email addresses and phone numbers of supplier staff and of your own people. We treat that as your information. We do not add those people to any marketing list, and we do not contact them.
When we delete demo documents
We delete demo and trial documents when you ask, and in any case within 30 days of the demo or the end of the trial. We confirm by email when it is done. If you subscribe, the documents you choose to keep move under the subscription agreement instead.
Who can see them
Only the people running your demo or trial can open your documents. Light Industrial is a small team in Cape Town, so in practice that is one or two named people. Access is removed when the documents are deleted.
What we do not claim
We do not hold ISO 27001, SOC 2 or any other security certification, and we do not claim one. If your procurement process needs a questionnaire answered, send it and we will answer it plainly.
Questions
Email donovan@lightindustrial.co.za. Ask for deletion the same way, and we will confirm when it is done.
